Cork is another interesting material from which a stamp is made. National Postal Service of Portugal issued such unique stamps in 2007 followed by Ecuador.

To make this stamp a wafer thin slice of cork is required. The stamp of Portugal is only 0.35 mm in thickness. Designed by Joao Machado the stamp of Portugal depicts a tree in the middle of field, whereas the cork stamp of Ecuador depicts a quill.

Every stamp is unique due to the cellular nature of cork.
